New fair for small and medium-sized publishing in Rome , at the More free books event . I just got back, this week I only got to go today and in the morning, almost at opening, it's better. I didn't see much turnout, but maybe because of today's holiday. There will certainly be more movement at the weekend. However, I saw many books, as always, more than a human being can read in his lifetime. I enter as a professional operator, because of two children's books illustrated years ago.
When I presented the printout of the email certifying my "operational professionalism" at the counter, I was told "his badge has already been withdrawn". The clever people at the secretariat had given Special Data my badge to one of my namesakes... and they gave me another one immediately. Accidents along the way. If I were to become famous, I would still be an unknown with all these namesakes that I find. However, it was nice to wander around the stands with the “Professional Operator” tag. People look at you wondering if they've read your book, what the hell kind of stories do you write. He doesn't know that I'm just someone who didn't pay for the ticket and doesn't have any publications under his belt.
Given the current crisis, I have purchased only two books, one of which is a brick like few others. I'm talking about The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, 1140 pages, published by Fanucci, who ruined my dust jacket by stuffing that voluminous tome into a tiny envelope. Then I stopped by Bel-Ami Edizioni to pick up Tales of Blood and Water by Daniele Picciuti and had a chat with the owner, who recognized me. So I return home to write this summary post.Take the reader back in time or forward into the future. She noticed that people, approaching him, immediately distanced themselves from him, as if they were afraid of trespassing or being bitten, or even contaminated. There was no risk of contamination. The mass follows the mass, not the individual.
